The Whole-House Building System
 

Cohen Brothers Homes (“CBH”) is positioned to revolutionize home building in large-scale residential developments in the United States and International markets. CBH is on the leading edge of the operational optimization occurring in the residential construction industry, and it believes that the comprehensive benefits of its proprietary technology in large residential communities significantly exceeds the incremental benefits derived from other available alternatives. 

CBH has patented a building system called the Whole-House Building System (“WHBS”) that allows the Company to build communities of architecturally flexible, high quality homes in production facilities located on, or near, large-scale residential developments with 800 or more homes.  CBH is able to build and then move completed homes that include all of the finish items (e.g. floor coverings, cabinets, appliances, plumbing, electrical work, etc.) to their final locations where they are placed on conventional concrete foundations. 

Compared to traditional stick-building, which is the customary construction method today for residential communities, the WHBS enjoys several significant benefits including: (i) reduces build time by 2/3 or more, (ii) reduces direct construction and financing costs, (iii) produces higher fit and finish levels, resulting in more consistent quality homes; and (iv) inclement weather has minimal impact on schedule, quality and work flow.

Within our Home Assembly Facilities we have protected environments that shield the production process and inventory of materials from inclement weather, theft, etc.  Further, we can now control, manage and optimize all production processes and procedures.  The end results are homes that are built to exacting standards, tighter tolerances, with a very high degree of consistency and  reliability.  Building in a controlled environment also greatly reduces the risks and contingent liabilities related to mold infestation.

It is also important to remember that CBH has the flexibility to build virtually any architecture that is typically found in master planned communities.  Our proprietary WHBS is a far more efficient and effective method of building large communities, but we are not confined to a limited number of product types.

Another very important aspect of the WHBS is that it can be scaled and customized to meet the needs of any particular project.  In other words, there is not one fixed production facility and program that meets the needs of every project.  The overall approach to facility sizing and WHBS production requirements is similar, yet the specific production facilities, equipment and staffing varies.
